Forthcoming song recital in Cambridge

On Wednesday 15 May 2012, Matthew Schellhorn will collaborate with American lyric coloratura soprano, Michelle Latour, in a song recital in Cambridge. The evening will feature the beautiful Hölderlin Lieder by Silesian-born Austrian composer, Viktor Ullmann (1898–1944), as well as new works by Americans Lori Latiman and Ned Rorem. The programme also includes the UK Premiere of pieces from the evocative set, Vteřiny (‘Seconds’), by Czech woman composer Vitĕzslava Kaprálová (1815–1840).

Forthcoming recital in Bath

On Wednesday 29 February 2012, Matthew Schellhorn will give a solo recital in Bath at the Michael Tippett Centre.

The programme, entitled “In Memoriam Olivier Messiaen”, includes works by Messiaen’s teacher, Maurice Emmanuel, Tristan Murail and Jonathan Harvey, and also features the UK premiere of The shadow of the blackbird by David Bruce.

The concert will be preceded by masterclasses at 13:00–15:00.
